Day visitors have access to the Summit Center during the Jamboree.  The Summit Center is the hub of Jamboree activity and is home to the stadium shows, the military exhibits, conservation trail, Disabilities Awareness Area, Sustainability Treehouse, merit badges, and a wide variety of other exhibits and displays.

Observers and participants can see all the above listed items and visit the main retail store, purchase retail food items, and experience Brownsea Island.

In addition those who purchase a participant pass can experience other elements of the Summit Center including Boulder Cove, Challenge Course, Skate Board Plaza, Mountain Biking, Climbing, and BMX riding.

Visitor access to activities is based on availability.  Activities may be closed at times due to adverse weather conditions. Day visitors do not have access to the base camps or activity areas.

Important Message to 2017 National Jamboree Visitors

For those interested in visiting the 2017 National Jamboree, the Boy Scouts of America announced the following updates to visitor day pass sales.

· Visitor single day passes are no longer available for Monday, July 24.

· Visitor two- and three-day passes as well as all-days passes are currently not available for purchase. They will be available for purchase, Monday, July 24 after 4:00 PM for use beginning Tuesday.

Important Message to 2017 National Jamboree Visitors

On Monday, July 24, United States President Donald J. Trump will become the eighth President to join the Boy Scouts of America’s National Jamboree. The President will address approximately 40,000 Scouts, Venturers, volunteers and staff participating in the 2017 National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The President’s visit will impact visitor access to the National Jamboree on Monday. The visitor schedule is revised to 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and various program activities will not be available beginning at 12:00 PM. Please note the President’s visit is a private event and is not open to the public.

The Boy Scouts of America understands these schedule changes may be an inconvenience. For those who purchased passes for use on Monday that would prefer to defer their visit to another day, the BSA will gladly exchange your Monday ticket pass for use on another day (excluding Saturday, 7/22). To exchange your Monday ticket, present your unused ticket to the staff at the J.W. and Hazel Ruby West Virginia Welcome Center.

Monday, July 24 Revised Schedule

9:00 AM Visitors begin to arrive to the J.W. and Hazel Ruby West Virginia Welcome Center for transport to Summit center.

12:00 Activities begin to close.

4:00 PM Last visitor bus departs to J.W. and Hazel Ruby West Virginia Welcome Center.

Please note that activities and vendors are not available after 4:00 PM.

Visitor hours will be as follows:

Friday, July 21st: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday, July 22nd: 9:00 am – End of Show
Sunday, July 23rd: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Monday, July 24th: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Tuesday, July 25th: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday, July 26th: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Thursday, July 27th: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (note the early closing time)

Notes:

  • Under 6 years old free admission
  • Ages 6-10 pay the youth fee
  • One day passes specifically for Sunday, July 23rd will be ½ the normal one day pass because of the shortened hours of operations. There are no other discounts regardless of the type of pass selected.
  • Scouts/Venturers in full uniform receive coupon for Trading Post discount under both plans (10% on any single purchase up to $40)
  • Single day, Two Day & Three Day Pass purchasers must purchase the Saturday, July 22nd Show Day Pass separately

No refunds will be provided on the basis of inaccuracy in product selection or quantity; weather; change of schedule; change, suspension, or cancellation of activities; failure to arrive at the venue; failure of on-site transportation; substitution or cancellation of entertainers close of venue; overbooking; wait times; or acts of God.

For your convenience and security, please:

  • No backpacks larger than 13 1/8 x 13 1/8 x 11 inches (it must fit in a standard milk crate)
  • No Coolers
  • No picnic baskets
  • No Glass bottles
  • No Firearms
  • No Alcohol
  • No Pets
  • No Illegal Substances

Visitors are encouraged to bring water bottles and/or small daypacks.

 Visitor Logistics

Parking is at the JW and Hazel Ruby West Virginia Welcome Center.  For Directions click HERE.

Shuttle transportation to the Summit Center from the visitor lot is provided with your pass.  Visitor shuttles run regularly all day during the Jamboree.  All visitors will be required to return to their cars when visitation hours end each day.

Upon arrival, all visitors will see a Youth Protection presentation.  For everyone’s security, all bags may be screened or checked.

The last shuttle to the Summit Center will depart from the visitor lot two hours before the posted closing hour.  On, Saturday, July 22, 2017, the last shuttle to the Summit Center will be 6pm.
