Mechanics of Advancement Conference

Course Description

Designed for unit, district, and council-level volunteers and professional Scouters, this course connects participants with the essentials of advancement and outlines the rationale behind many of the policies and procedures governing it. Presentations from members of the National Advancement Program Team will provide an understanding of how the BSA advancement method should be delivered. Group discussions will focus on effective ways to resolve the related issues and challenges that arise. The Guide to Advancement and the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook are featured and covered in detail.

Registration Fee: $540 – $515(Early Bird)


Get a taste of the adventure and action sports opportunities available at the BSA’s newest national base — The Summit Bechtel Reserve — located in Southern West Virginia. The Training Center program gives you access to all venues in the Scott Summit Center. This area is a microcosm of the Summit with sample versions of each of the high adventure venues and a ton of exciting activities.

This program is available for registered Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers and Training Center Participants and they are welcome to move from one area to another as they please.
