Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base provides outdoor experiences and challenges—such as zip-lining, rock climbing, rappelling, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting—that are not offered by any other BSA high-adventure base. With the permission of the National Park Service, the BSA has implemented high-adventure experiences and treks—bikepacking, whitewater rafting, and Polaris ATV—trailheading from the base along 53 miles of the New River.
