Activities Offered

Mountain Biking Trails
For more advanced Mountain Biking Enthusiasts, the Summit offers over 35 miles of trails. The trails weave in and out of the woods and offer one of the coolest ways to take in the West Virginia scenery. From beginner bikers to expert cyclists, there’s a trail for everyone.
Trail Maps available online or for purchase at the Reserve. Bring your own gear or rent equipment on-site.

Hiking, Running, and Nature Viewing Trails
There are multiple hiking trails to enjoy on property. We recommend walking our Gottschalk Boardwalk to quietly connect with nature and explore the wetland ecosystem. Lucky hikers may catch a glimpse of a white-tailed deer taking a drink, or a bald eagle swooping and searching for its fishy dinner.

Fishing
Fishing is available at two locations onsite: Scenic Goodrich Lake East is the perfect place for spin, bait-cast, and fly fishing. Fishing rods are available to rent. You are also welcomed to bring your own fishing gear!

Skateboarding & Scootering Access
Summit Bechtel Reserve’s larger-than-life outdoor skate park is a place for amateurs to learn to skate and for pros to practice their next trick. It includes a fun combo of transitions, ramps, quarter pipes, and more.

Sustainability Treehouse
The Sustainability Treehouse represents the Summit’s commitment to sustainable practices and policies. This award-winning building is like an interactive classroom where families can learn about everything from recycling practices to urban gardening.
