National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE)

What is NAYLE?

National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE) is an exciting program where young men and women enhance their leadership skills through team building, ethical decision-making, problem solving and service to others. NAYLE is a very special experience. You will camp in a team setting that enables participants to use their leadership skills to resolve challenging situations. The week concludes with a closing challenge for each Scout to use what they’ve learned in service to others.

Eligibility

To be able to participate in NAYLE, participants must meet the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews (ILST or ILSC) and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). 
  • Be in top physical condition; a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record is required. 
  • Be 14 years of age (or 13 years of age and completed the 8th grade) and not yet 18 (for Scouts) or 21 (for Venture Scouts.)
  • Hold a unit leadership position. 

Registration Instructions

Before you begin, please apply for a my.scouting.org account using the youth’s BSA ID number.

To login, you must use the youth’s my.scouting.org account to start the reservation. The system will verify age and current BSA registration to meet NAYLE requirements. If the system blocks your registration, please contact your local council to verify membership records. 

Parents, please do not use your BSA ID number to register your Scout. The system will prohibit you moving forward.

All Faculty must use their my.scouting.org to begin their registration. If blocked, please contact your local council to verify membership records. 

What are the Next Course Dates?

NAYLE SESSION 1: June 23-June 29, 2024
(Staff/faculty will arrive June 15, 2024.)

NAYLE SESSION 2: July 7- July 13, 2024
(Staff/faculty will arrive June 29, 2024.)

What are the Course Fees?

2024 Prices

$595 per participant

$525 per faculty/staff

$250 due at registration with balance due 30 days prior to the first day of the course. Full payment details are at the registration link.

PAYMENT DETAILS

A non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is due at the time of registration.

At 45 days out from the event 50% of total registration costs are due.

At 30 days out from the event 100% of total registration costs are due.

Cancellation/Refund Policy for Training Center

60 days out from event = Full Refund, less deposit

45 days out from event = Half Refund, less deposit

30 days out from event = No Refund

Exceptions:  Military service, family death, major medical (less deposit), or other extenuating circumstances evaluated on a per-case basis.

Refund will be applied to the original form of payment that was used.  If payments were only made in the form of a check, then refund will be made in kind.
