14 months from now, 35,000 Scouts and Scouters will descend upon the Summit Bechtel Reserve for the 2017 National Scout Jamboree. There is an incredible amount of work to be done between now and then, all of which will be driven forward by a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers.
Throughout the summer, teams of Ambassadors will be working at Scout camps and in local councils to recruit Jamboree staffers and participants. As a staff member, you are a Jamboree Ambassador!
Most Scouts will only get one chance to experience a Jamboree as a youth. Let’s ensure every eligible Scout has that chance in 2017! The most effective way to get Scouts to the Jamboree is to ask them. In your travels, make a point to discuss the Jamboree and invite interested Scouts to attend, and adults to join the staff.
In addition to recruiting staff, the individual committees are rapidly assembling plans to ensure the Jamboree experience exceeds every expectation.
