Rovers! In addition to great adventure activities, exciting educational program, and a chance to simply be social, much of the success of an International event lies in the diversity of people that we are able to bring together.
Unfortunately, whether because of the pandemic, or visas, conflict in Europe, or economic shifts, we do not feel that we have the number of Scouts required to make this event the dream rally that we wanted to bring you to and will not be held this summer.
As such, we want to extend to each of you a full refund — no questions asked. Alternatively, if visiting the Summit is something you really wanted to do this summer, we would be happy to reduce your ticket price by $200 and welcome you to the BSA Orion project (featuring the climbing walls, White water rafting, shooting ranges, mountain biking, etc ) but without the international theme. Please contact us if we can provide you more information. The Orion registration link: https://www.summitbsa.org/orionproject/
Our Founder, Robert Baden-Powell, has been quoted to say: “A Scout smiles and whistles under all circumstances.” We know this news is not something that any of us are pleased with, but how we utilize the time that has been made available to us through this misfortune we could make a difference in the lives of others.
Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit Bechtel Reserve is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in Scouting America and anyone who loves the outdoors. The Summit Bechtel Reserve is also home to the National Scout Jamboree and the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base.
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
