Located at the end of Goodrich Lake East in Scott Summit Center, Brownsea Island is the BSA’s homage to Robert Baden-Powell’s inaugural camp for boys held in August 1907 in England. During jamborees and other large Scouting events, the 1.25-acre island, accessed by John Gottschalk Causeway crossing from Boulder Cove, hosts facilitators in period dress who introduce modern Scouts to the history of Scouting’s birthplace.
