Ernie L. Thrasher

With more than 40 years in the coal industry, it’s not too surprising that Ernie L. Thrasher became involved with the Summit Bechtel Reserve. After all, the site was mined for coal extensively before it was acquired by the Boy Scouts of America. After visiting the Summit Bechtel Reserve, Ernie was inspired to become a Scouting supporter. His enthusiasm resulted in the development of Thrasher Mountain, a site dedicated to adventure sports, including a 4.6-acre skateboard park and a 13.7-acre BMX facility.

An experienced veteran of the mining industry, Ernie is the founder, CEO and chief marketing officer of Xcoal Energy and Resources, a leading global coal products supplier.
