As a young Scout, John Tickle probably didn’t imagine that he would someday save a life when he was learning about “artificial respiration.” However, that was exactly what he did when he used his Scouting skills as an adult to perform CPR on a fellow golfer who had suffered a major heart attack. The man eventually made a full recovery and John believes that his Scout training was responsible. Today, John works to ensure that youth have the same opportunities to learn life-changing skills.
John is chairman of the board of Strongwell, the world’s leading and largest pultruder of fiber reinforced polymer products. He has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
