Ray and Deborah Dillon

Ray and Deborah Dillon’s Scouting involvement is all about family Scouting and the Scouting experiences they shared with their four children. All three of their sons—Jonathan, Gregory, and Robert—achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and their daughter, Amanda, achieved the rank of Ranger in the BSA’s Venturing program. Over the years, Ray and Deborah saw Scouting have a positive impact on each of their children, which is a huge reason they are Scouting supporters today. They are especially interested in the way Scouting develops leadership skills in participating youth.

Ray developed an interest in leadership development over the course of his career as an executive in the timber industry. He spent more than 25 years with Gaylord Container Corporation and after leaving Gaylord, Ray joined Deltic Timber Corporation, where he served as president and CEO for more than 13 years before his retirement. He is currently chairman of the board of America’s Car-Mart and a board member of Stone Bank.

Why I give...

“Scouting is one of the only organizations today that is teaching leadership, duty, honor, and respect—basically the Scout Law. We are growing tomorrow’s future leaders in Scouting and that is important for our communities, our states, and our country.”
‒ Ray Dillon
