The Gauley Bridge High School Class of 1976 is excited to announce our 50th Reunion set to take place on August 8th at the beautiful Summit Bechtel Reserve located in Mt. Hope, WV.  We would like to open the reunion to ALL GBHS Alumni and invite them along with their family & friends to join us!  This milestone event promises a day full of connection, memories, activities and optional adventures in a stunning West Virginia setting. 

Registration is $40.00 per classmate and $20.00 for each additional guest , and children under 10 are free. 

For those arriving early in the day, lunch is optional at $30.00 per person.  Dinner is also optional at $45.00 per person. Providing a wonderful opportunity for alumni and guests to gather, share stories, and enjoy a meaningful evening together with dining,  music, and dancing.  A cash bar will be available. 

In addition to reconnecting with friends, attendees will have the option to take part in a variety of activities offered at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.  For an additional cost, participants can experience exciting adventures such as Alexander’s Eagle Flight, Ziplining, Kayaking & Paddleboarding, and 5-Stand Shotgun.  See all options below: 

Lunch – $30.00 per adult, $20 for kids under 10 – Lunch will be available for those who plan to arrive earlier in the day to take advantage of the exciting activities listed below. 

Dinner – $ 45.00 per adult, $30 for kids under 10 – Join us for dinner as alumni and their guests gather to share stories and enjoy a meaningful evening with great food, music, and dancing.  A cash bar will be available. 

Alexander’s Eagle Flight ziplining – $45.00 

Kayaking & (SUP) Stand Up Paddleboarding – $20.00 

5-Stand Shotgun shooting – $90.00 

Fishing (Catch & Release) – No charge – Bring your own gear 

Hiking – No charge – Maps available 

Biking – No charge – Bring your own bike 

These activities offer a fun way to make new memories while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. 

Several lodging options are available for those who would like to stay over. 

Whether you come for the fellowship, the food, or the chance to try something new, this reunion is shaping up to be a memorable celebration of lifelong friendships and shared history.

Be sure to sign up for our paid activities by July 24, 2026, to reserve your spot for exciting adventures like ziplining, kayaking / paddleboarding, or 5-stand shotgun.

For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, we also offer free activities including corn hole, hiking (trail maps provided), biking (bring your own), and catch-and-release fishing—just remember to bring your own pole and bait.

How much do tickets cost?

Registration is $40 per alumnus and $20 per guest. 

What meals are available for purchase?

Lunch is available for  $30 per person and $20 for kids under 10. The menu includes Garden Salad, Whole Grain Mustard Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Corn on the Cob, and Baked Mac & Cheese. Entrées feature Pulled Pork with house BBQ sauce and classic Hot Dogs. For dessert, enjoy Brownies topped with caramel drizzle and whipped cream.

Dinner is available for $45 per person and $30 for kids under 10. The menu features a delicious spread of Garden Salad, fresh Yeast Rolls, Broccoli Salad, Whipped Potatoes, and Steakhouse Green Beans. Entrées include Oven-Roasted Bone-In Chicken and Slow-Cooked Pot Roast with onions, carrots, and celery. To finish, enjoy Blackberry Cobbler topped with whipped cream.

Do I need to register, book meals, activities, and lodging at the same time?

No—please go ahead and complete your registration for yourself and your guests first. You can return at any time to sign up for activities or book a room up until July 24, 2026.

When will Registration Close?

You can register for the event and activities through July 24, 2026.

I need to cancel my Registration, Activities, or Lodging. Can I receive a full refund?

We understand that emergencies happen and plans can change. A full refund, minus the transaction fee, will be issued for cancellations made on or before July 24, 2026. After this date, we will not be able to offer any refunds.

Can I bring my own alcohol to the reunion?

Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. A cash bar will be available during dinner for those who wish to purchase beverages.

Where will meals be served?

All meals will be served at the JW Marriott Leadership Center dining room.

We have a Summit Interactive Visitor Map you can download on your phone or a printable map. We will also have maps available at the reunion.

Recommendations

Consider bringing extra bottles of water, a cooler, or refillable bottles for hikes etc.  Watering stations are available on the property.  Also, you may want to bring extra lawn chairs as some activities may not have extra seating. 

Are there fun things to do near the Summit?

In Fayetteville (within 15 minutes of the North Gate): 

  • Wisteria’s Gifts – 147 S. Court St. 
  • Dove Village Shops (Country crafts, linens, unique decor) – 519 Hinkle Rd
  • The New River Gorge Bridge & Visitor’s Center (a National Park offering hiking, river rafting and more) 

In Beckley: 

“Exhibition Coal Mine” is a Coal town example to tour. Miners guide a riding tour into a mine shaft with a historical glimpse of what mining was like in the height of the business during Rocket Boys years. 

Tamarack Marketplace is a MUST SEE for shopping (& lunch) as it is a WV Crafter’s Guild shopping of everything imaginable!  - 1 Tamarack Park in Beckley, about 30 min from SBR gate
