Brett Harvey has a long history of dedication to the Boy Scouts of America. He achieved the rank of Life Scout and both of his sons reached the rank of Eagle. Today, he serves the organization as a member of the National Executive Board and a trustee of the BSA National Foundation. He is also the chairman of Arrow WV, Inc., which oversees development at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
Professionally, Brett spent a successful career in the energy business. He is chairman emeritus of CONSOL Energy Inc., a producer and exporter of high-BTU bituminous thermal coal and one of the leading energy companies in the United States. He also served CONSOL as president (1998-2011), CEO (1998-2014), chairman (2010-2016), and executive chairman (2014-2015). On top of his role at CONSOL, Brett sits on the Leadership Council of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. Highlights of his career include his 2009 induction into the West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame and his 2012 induction into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame.
In addition to his personal philanthropy, Brett oversaw CONSOL Energy’s gift for the construction of the CONSOL Energy Bridge, an iconic landmark at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
