Joseph “Si” and Eaton Brown

Joseph “Si” Brown has a passion for Scouting. In addition to his time as a Scout, Si has been an adult volunteer for more than 15 years. During that time Si has volunteered his time to his local Evangeline Area Council and was the driving force behind the development of the council’s Atchafalaya Swamp Base.

In his professional life, Si has served as president and CEO of Bruce Foods since 1973. Founded in 1928 in New Iberia, Louisiana, Bruce Foods has been manufacturing “Original” Louisiana Hot Sauce and Cajun condiments and seasonings for more than 80 years.

In 2018, Si was inducted into the Hot Sauce Hall of Fame for his stewardship of the “Original” Louisiana Hot Sauce brand. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the largest privately-owned specialty food manufacturers in the country.

Why I give...

“There’s no time in history that the United States has needed Scouting more than right now. Scouting teaches skills and knowledge not available to youth anymore in schools.
“My goal is to see that as many young people are exposed to the values and principles of Scouting as possible.”
‒ Joseph “Si” Brown

“A woman’s place is at home on the shooting range.”
‒ Eaton Brown
