Mountain biking gives you everything that’s fun about being outside: The wind on your face, the trail ahead, and joy in your heart. The purpose-built trails at The Summit is mountain biking Shangri-La, featuring cross country, downhill, slalom, jump and pump courses. It’s the perfect place to hone your riding skills.

Tires and Trails Program

Tires and Trails is the perfect program for those wanting a deeper dive into mountain biking. This program introduces Scouts and Venturers to three days of fundamental and intermediate skills. With 36 miles of trails at The Summit, participants will have the chance to hone those skills and come away with a strong foundation for a lifetime of mountain biking.

Dial in the following skills:

  • Pedaling
  • Cornering
  • Changing Gears
  • Body Position
  • Climbing
  • Descending
  • And more!

Strong skills are the foundation that allow you to ride in almost any environment, the building blocks upon which years of awesome biking are built. Sometimes you’ll find yourself challenged—maybe a climb, a technical section of trail, or a tough corner—but when you nail it for the first time, you’ll know the effort was worth it.

Mountain biking trails at The Summit include cross country, downhill, dual slalom, pump tracks and jump courses. Each of these courses is designed to help you become a stronger rider and get more enjoyment on the trail.

As a bonus, each member of your crew will also be able to select two additional elective activities at other Summit adventure venues. A half-day service project and a ride on the Big Zip – our 3⁄4 mile zip line – round out your week.
