What do you get when 1,300 Scouts, Scouters, and Venturers converge upon the Summit for the Summit Shakedown? A great event.

What happens when that number becomes 50,000 next year? An epic, once-in-a-lifetime event.

One of the best things that the Shakedown has shown is that there is always an activity to do that matches the skill level that is present.

For example, if you’re a beginner BMX biker, hit up the small course. For the more experienced, a large course is available that allows scouts to truly get some air. The events are designed so that anyone can try something new and have fun.

In around one year, the 2013 National Jamboree will begin, bringing with it people from around the world all gathered for the same purpose: fun (and patches). When what has been seen at the Summit Shakedown happens again at the jamboree, many will simply be blown away by the sheer number of world-class activities that are present and available to all participants at the jamboree.
