Just think about it: If 50,000 people come to the 2013 National Jamboree, how many mountain bikes will it take to keep Scouting’s pedals pumping non-stop?
With over 20 miles of mountain biking track, including crosscountry and downhill trails of all ability levels, MTB-action is going to be popular. It’s going to take a LOT of bikes to keep Scouts and Venturers in the action.
Fortunately, Scouting is full of volunteers ready to rise to the challenge. Check out this video of all the Scouters who came together to build mountain bikes for the Summit Shakedown.
Held in July, the Summit Shakedown gave the site’s planners and staff some great insight as the Summit project develops. They’re applying what they learned to make the Summit an incredible experience for everyone.
Did you get to try mountain biking at Shakedown? Are you looking forward to cruising the Summit’s trails at the national jamboree?
